About Us

Cade Hill Investments is the private office and investment vehicle of Dr Simon Galbraith.

Its origins trace back to the investment arm of Redgate Software, originally established as Redgate Investments Ltd. Around 2016, it was spun out of Redgate, with Simon Galbraith as the main shareholder alongside a long tail of largely employee shareholders. Following a liquidity event in 2021, minority shareholders were bought out, and Simon Galbraith became the sole shareholder.

A number of subsequent corporate restructures took place in connection with Dr Galbraith's divorce, resulting in a series of further transactions.

Our Approach

Our strategy is to take a substantial holding in a company - typically between 20-60% - and to work for as long as it takes, often more than a decade, to help that company succeed. We are a far more active investor than most, and take real pride in an exceptionally high success rate: to date, nearly everything we've backed has gone on to succeed.

Our portfolio spans a range of software companies, alongside three AI companies, three biotech companies, and two organisations with an explicitly charitable purpose.
